EMILY WELSH, LCSW-R
Emily is a licensed psychotherapist who has been in practice for over 10 years. Starting her career at two intense youth crisis shelters, and working in Early Intervention, she has worked with families for almost two decades. She attended SUNY New Paltz, graduating with a BS in Psychology, and went on to SUNY Albany to earn a Master’s in Social Work.
Having worked in a variety of settings with a variety of clientele, she has been able to focus her practice on helping others with feeling better about who they are meant to be. Having training in trauma, family work, postpartum/perinatal mental health and evidence based treatments such as CBT, she continues to work to help others see the best in themselves and navigate this difficult world with a little more self-love and confidence.
Emily specializes in anxiety disorders, prenatal and perinatal mental health, trauma, self-esteem and communication/relationship conflicts. Emily has extensive experience working with folks having conflict with family members, adolescents/young adults, folks experiencing communication difficulties in their lives, self-esteem issues, history of abuse/trauma, OCD and issues the LGBTQIA+ community face. Emily welcomes people ages 14 and over at this time to her practice.
